I wrote this piece after attending a booking signing at A Good Book store in Baltimore, Maryland. The featured author was Bernadette Stanis. If you do not know Bernadette Stanis . . . she played Thelma on Good Times. Her book was about 101 relationships issues. It talked about the good, the bad and the ugly. The various relationships that she discussed in her book sparked the following.

PLEASE?

You love me

And

I love you

So it should not matter what others think

Who cares if we are from different sides of the track

Because it's a fact . . . that love is infinite

And I have decided to commit

The rest of my life to you

And I no longer have the desire to pursue . . . another

And I hope you feel the same way too

You are my best friend

And I want to be with you until my life ends

You have been the only love that I have ever had

And you are the only love that I will ever need

So with these words

I get down on my knees

And ask you to spend the rest of your life with me

PLEASE

"Please?" has a poignant message. Is it a plea, declaration, or is it question--i.e. the ? after your title "Please?". Isn't it amazing how one little punctuation symbol can stir so many thoughts. It makes me wonder if the love is reciporcated in kind. It was clever of you to use it.

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to
