I wrote this piece earlier in the year after hearing that a father left his toddler out in the cold to freeze, because he wanted to sleep. Children are so forgiving, so I tried to put myself in the mindset of the children that were left in the cold to freeze to death. May God bless their souls.
*DEAR DADDY* Daddy why did you leave me out in the cold? I almost made it to two years old I only wanted you and mommy to hold me And now I will be subjected to an autopsy All because I wanted to be near you and mommy You left me out in the cold like waste and debris Now I will never to make you proud of me By lacing my first shoe Or blowing out my second candle Now I will never have a chance To attend my first dance Or go to school, graduate and get my degree All because you were sleepy Daddy please know I will continue to look down on you And pray for you For what you are about to endure and go through Daddy . . . I forgive you and Daddy . . . "WE" must speak up and protect the babies. "WE" must stop sweeping these situations under the rug as though they do not exist.

This is tragic! Makes you wonder what really and truly goes through people's minds as they do something so unspeakable. It made me cry and angry. How? Why? Arrrgh!
