When my life changed drastically at 20, I was already frugal. So I saved my pennies that would already have been gone had I not had, nearly by accident, long-term care insurance that any person expecting to be required to have care in later life should buy, but very early, otherwise it costs too much. In a way, a 401(k) is long-term care insurance.
