I had to write this to spur myself on and in this I hope to help others to achieve excellence and a fulfilled dream

It’s so easy to lie in the bed of mediocrity
Not wanting to awake to excellence
Nor wanting to pursue purpose with passion
Mediocrity woos us to be nothing
To want nothing
But to lie in our poverty
Forever robbed of our visions, goals and dreams
Mediocrity lulls us to sleep
A sleep that leads to the captivity
Of our greatest potential
It enchants and locks us in a trance
That shows us life is just fine
It lies and tells us there is not another
Height to reach and goal to attain
You are all you need to be, all is okay
Mediocrity whispers, it’s too hard
It will never happen, be like the others
Why do you want to be different… why even bother?
Your destiny will always be
Right here with me on this bed of ease
Eat, drink and be merry, that’s all there is to life
You will be wasting your time reaching for the skies
Will you keep listening to mediocrity’s lies?
Wake up, be stirred, get up and arise
From her bed, there is more for you
Indeed there are heights to attain
Your pursuit of more will not be in vain
A companion of fools she aims to keep
You will be one if with her you sleep
Wisdom and excellence is outside the door
Waiting and wanting to give you so much more
So sever your ties with mediocrity
Remove yourself from her bed of ease
And pursue your dreams.
