On a winding road to passion There are moments when the twilight Rolls across the firmament And the magic words which once sounded Like drops of rain on a silent night Have suddenly lost the charm And there are thirsty skies The blue heavens have starved To spurt the souls of men And hungry pains have cried in the winds To hold on to a mirage Somehow it is a road to destiny as well To hear the cry that has died within And revived again From a broken battered earth A serene face has looked up at the sky With tearful eyes that welled up In sorrow and the noise of the thunder Sounds deafening with heaven’s arrow Thrusting at lonesome souls You have cried and laughed and wandered Why has the delectable spirit gone wary of life, of love, of a meaning That seems too soft or too hard to be broken? Solitude settles in the running winds With the gasps of hope That still has a distant fragrance On puerile earth That still seems to separate the husk from the grain And the shining staple Basks on your palm to reveal the gold of earthen luxury
The voice within stops awhile To feel the pleasures of the intermittent Haphazard, winds of change
Very descriptive and the reader needs all the senses to fully experience your words. Nice work.
