Everything imagined is here in this picture....

My Inner Child

I've often brought her out to play

If only to see what she had to say

She always wanted

to climb way up high

and run,  just fast enough

to never be caught

She liked to play tag

You're it! Then run and hide.

I could always find her

The giggling gave her away.

She never went far

and always ended, by my side.

My memory of my child

Could not have been better

It feels like time to PLAY

I think I will go and get her!

09 Carin' Spirit

I often find mine in my stories, or playing with my children. We should never let go of our inner child, and grasp it as often as we can.

I really like this poem. It speaks to everyone who still has the spirit of a child begging to be set free at times.

very creative and I too, believe in keeping my inner child active, life is surely more fun, adults are too uptight, anyway as long as I take care of business i don't fret or have no regret

Hello Carin' Spirit,

Yes our "inner self" can only be as young as we think it to be.
Even someone who's young can be "old" in attitude and manners.
Very reflective and totally wonderful poem.

You seem like the person not to let "her' wander to far from you. Some people lose their's for good. This poem carries a good message for all of us "aging children"...

A wonderful tribute to your inner child. I am often told that I never "grew up." Maybe it's because I let my inner child out to play quite often. Thank you. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis
