Turn on the radio Turn on the cable Listen to whispers From Chaotic far right Cheers of glory Cheers of guts Hailing the bigot The nasty dummy Riding the scum Scan the hailers In their numbers Angry and whinning Poorly educated Belching smoke Like the Jew and Pilate Give us Barabas Rants from the air From East to West Coast to Coast Give us barabas Make him our King Terrifies the nation Marvels the pundits Dummy holds sway Lifted higher by the scum

"How the mighty has fallen!" America is poised to exalt one who embodies crudity, profanity, Narcissism and despotism. A Christian? Not that I can notice.
Your poem, in its simplicity, arouses all the feelings of horror and dismay that plague me as I pray and wait for the scene to change.
