You emerged in front of me
Through your own emotion.
In the lines that you wrote,
I saw pure devotion.

I felt the grip of your heart,
And void as it disjoined.
I read your empty soul,
With pain, your phrases coined.

Pity did not factor in.
Sympathy found no need,
For strength remained within you,
Although, your soul did bleed.

Your pride remained so intact,
Demanding my respect,
Though pride’s not often found
In Love bathed by neglect.

I applaud your sacrifice
And find that my heart pines,
For he who lived the verse
And penned it in those lines.
