wedding vows

You ask if I still love you,
how could you ask such a thing
I said I’d love you forever
the day I wore your ring.

I know you’re getting older,
I’m getting older too,
you say because of your failing
health, how can I put up with you.

Traveling through life’s journey
is sometimes a bumpy road
But sometimes it's' a fresh paved highway
Which way, we can never know.

We travelled that road together
Sometimes not knowing what to do
It really didn’t matter; as long as I was
there with you.

We took our vows so long ago
And I still want you to know
“For richer or for poorer
In sickness and in health”
You’re my love, my life,
I will forever and a day
 be your loving wife.

For my Vincent

Such a beautiful poem. I don't know how anyone could ask for more.

Mary,

This is such a beautiful poem—full of deep feeling, thought, and love. I happened upon it just a moment ago. I’ve read it three times now, once to my wife and twice to myself. It’s title reminded me of the poem I wrote and read to my wife during the gathering and celebration of our 50th anniversary. However, yours is much better. At least, I think it is. All this being said, I invite you to read “Until Death Do We Part.”

Would that all relationships could experience the kind of love that you describe in your verses here, Mary. Love and best wishes,

Your Vincent is blessed to have you - this particularly close, because both my Daddy and brother stayed with their wives, in sickness and in health - til death did them part - before remarrying - most men can't find the love of one, they found the love of two good women - beautiful, Mary -

(((HUGS))) and love, karla.

Mary, these words are oh so true...when our loved one gets sick "we" only love them more but sometimes they feel they are useless and "we" don't love them anymore. This is a beautiful tribute to your husband.
