I wrote this as my ship headed East returning from Operation Enduring Freedom.
Rejoicing the anticipated return to my family.
SOUND THE ALARM
Long time ago I left
I saw my baby cry
A whole long time ago I left
Saw my woman cry
But she ain't a gonna cry no more
Cause I'm leavin here and sayin goodbye
I fought in da war
but I ain't free
We won the war
but we still ain't free
Ah now terror's on the run
Please, thank us for this life we lead
Been away too long
Sailin' the seas
I've been away too long
Sailin' seven seas
But I'm on my way home
Cause my family's awaitin' on me
When I lay in here arms
I'ma gonna sleep
When I lay in her arms
Oh Lord will I sleep
And if they ever need me again
Bang on the drums and sound the alarm
Someday on da farm
Tha’s where you'll find me
Yea someday I'll farm
where I 'as meant to be
But if they ever need me again
Just bang da damn drums and sound the alarm
