Years to Come

As I look back, all I can see

Just this world crashing down on me

All of my walls were closing in

I felt so crushed I felt so pinned

I was too young to be so old

Grew up too fast; I grew so cold

This prison fence; this razor wire

Within my veins; I felt the fire

Rapture of life is fading fast

As I look back into my past

Eager for a moment's desire

I light the flame; enter the fire

Profaned body that I call my own

In years to come, I'll forget the known

As I look back, all I can feel

The wrath of God; it feels so real

All the debris upon the grave

Just shows that I cannot be saved

All of my ashes within my tomb

Are only proof that my life is doomed

I can't escape the forevermore

And so I knock on the devil's door

And then I wait for him to show

To make a deal; to sell my soul

I'd give it up; no second thought

To take away the pain I brought

Soulless being, lost and confused

In years to come, won't be abused

As I look back, all I can smell

The stench of flesh, in flames of Hell

Smells so rotten; smells so sweet

The burning flesh; the rotting meat

I sense this world, it's leaving me

I'm losing touch with reality

An epidemic; the plague of darkness

This evil feeling; this evil bliss

Nothing is right; it all feels wrong

And all of my pain is growing strong

I fear my world has gone to Hell

No one to blame, except myself

I will be saved, eventually

In years to come, I will be free

As I look back, all I can taste

The taste of blood; my bloody face

The wounds tear down into my soul

I can't forget; I can't be whole

These thoughts of pain in my memories

These open wounds, they always bleed

I cannot sleep; I can't sedate

Because when I do, I feel the hate

The memories are killing me

They must not stay; they will not flee

Nothing is real; it feels so fake

I don't know how much that I can take

So I close my eyes and just push through

In years to come, I'll start anew

As I look back, all I can hear

The screams of pain; the screams of fear

The screams I hear; they are my own

The pain I feel, I face alone

So much a burden, these tears of mine

I've lost my soul; I've lost my mind

I've lost it all; my everything

Why does this all keep happening?

It hurts so much, when I look back

Whenever I see when I was attacked

I hear my screams; I hear my cries

And whenever I do, my soul just dies

In years to come, I'll rise above

In years to come, I will know love
