A Rare Gem

A glimpse into the growth process of a very hard-headed child of God!

I never knew the gifts possessed
As a young and unruly child.
Floundering and failing;
Putting the world to test,
Running fiercely into the wild.
Spiraling ahead into the maze,
facing dead ends on every street.
Then one day, I slowed to engage
the rhythm of my own heartbeat.
It was during this forced down time,
That my spirit was renewed
Leaving old daily life behind
head focused and recons-true d.
New habits I learned to apply,
Like a daily dose of God’s word.
Heartfelt prayers I began to cry
Knowing indeed; my Father heard.
Supplications from a heart bent towards Him
Now flow freely as I seek His face.
In this relationship, I’ve found a rare gem
of abundant love and amazing grace.

"Then one day, I slowed to engage
the rhythm of my own heartbeat."

Lovely line.

Outstanding piece.
The word dose bothered me a bit somehow, it seemed a plain word to suit the eloquence words prior couched in such grace.

Yet, still outstanding.

Sincerely
Rodney

God is great, God is good, all the time, a song the children sing at our Church. They love this song. It's so true.

I have seen his face, but others never say the same. I suppose I must give more, as they say, those who have more should give more. I am blessed.
