I am Mother Earth and I was here before the creation of mankind.
Mankind, you who have become a curse upon my breast. Because of you I wretch in anger I wretch hurricanes and tsunami’s
.I wretch earthquakes. I wretch floods. I wretch volcanic eruptions and blizzards. Glaciers melt upon my stomach and still you pay no attention. Everything in nature knows its’ place and acts accordingly except you mankind. You stab me in the stomach and then you stomp upon my face. You gouge me for minerals to wage war against each other. And yet you mistake my wretches for illness. Mankind hear me now while you still have time for I wretch with rage. My present heaves are your latest warnings. If you choose not to understand my anger from your misdeeds You will experience the consequences of ignorance. Ignorance is curable by gaining knowledge. Stupidity is incurable and deadly.
I am Mother Earth and if I must dismiss your presence from myself I can reform myself. The creatures whom you call animals respect me and their place near me is guaranteed. You mankind have created your own punishment as you arrogantly place yourself above all of the creatures who live upon me. I am Mother Earth and I am tiring of you mankind. You had better change your ways and learn to live peacefully with each other. You cannot survive my rage nor imagine the extent of my next heave. Haiti’s poverty you ignored. How will your rich ones survive my next heave? Why should they.
So true and so clearly expressed feelings. Mother Earth asks Man: What have I done wrong when you attack me with all types of weapons from iron age spears to modern technology weaponry. Unfortunately man has no answer for that question and he can never and shall never have one until he scratches greed from his mind, which he cannot for some obvious reasons. Thanks dear Mikii, I missed you so much. My best reagards to Baba.
I don't know how I missed your poem, but I am so glad that I found it. Mikii, you have said so much here. Mother Earth is very angry with us. I am writing a Native American Series and my main character is always trying to tell the "white" man to stop abusing the Earth. USA would have been better off had not the English invaded this land in so many more ways than one.
