I wandered into a garden, one lovely spring day.
Just to take a quick look, then be on my way.
There was such beauty with all the blooms,
I found a bench and rested a while.
All around me the roses bloomed.
Reds, pinks, whites and smelled so fragrant.
One dusty pink rose started to unfurl.
I watched it’s petals slowly open to the sun.
It was so beautiful and captured my heart
As it spread it’s lovely face to me.
It smiled and I heard it softly say
“Good morning dear man
What brings you to sit and watch me smile”
I answered very shyly “I’m weary and stopped to rest.
You’ve opened just for me and I now feel blessed
Your beauty is stunning, you captured my heart.”
As I stood to leave the rose spoke again.
“ I saw you come and sit by my side.
I felt your warmth and opened up for you. “
I reached down and very carefully raised
her fragrant petals to my lips.
Not once, not twice
but three times did I kiss her.
She blushed just slightly
not to change her lovely shade.
Then, softly spoke to me again.
“Will you take me and place me
next to your heart?
I want to feel your warmth
And never from you part.
Then gently place me somewhere
that we can always be near .
To have you kiss me from time to time
will let me know your love still lasts.”
I gently did as she wished me to
and she forever is in my heart.
