Poem Artwork

something ...

....makes this honking, haunting sound in the marshland,
a doe, a deer ... please not my aching heart.

...stirs within me, a phantom pain,
far beneath a wound,
already healed ... this cannot be me.

... goes beyond knowing, must continue, forever bleeds,
yet remains intact ... is all I have to give.

Much depth in so few words that express life's anguish and in how much we have given.
