The innocence and wonder of childhood allow the imagination to blossom and burst into blooms of incredible possibilities. Love and peace to you, Stephen,
So right! Where we lived, no mountains were anywhere near. So I climbed to the top of young trees until they bent over and gently deposited me back on the ground. I enjoyed not having to climb down and skin my thighs and arms anymore from hugging the tree.
When I was a small girl, our cousin always took us to climb the Lion Mountain in Hong Kong. The mountain was very steep, almost like just 95 degrees angle. We had no gears, only held on to the grass on the mountain soil that we could get our hands on as we climbed. Luckily, we were so skinny we were not too heavy for the grass. LOL!!!
We would always climb from the city side of Kowloon, climb over the top and then come down to the other side where it was Sha Tin, a suburban town of Kowloon. Then we would hop into the train bound for the city and ride back to the cityside in Kowloon (I'm not sure if we had paid any fare. I don't remember paying anything)
Another climbing adventure we did when we were kids was to squeeze ourselves out of the windows railings, but we were so skinny then it was easy for us to squeeze through the windows. While climbing outside of our big house, we would act like Spider-man, climbing along the pipes from the third floor down to the ground.
Sometimes we would stand on the roof of our 4-storey house, just looking at the neighbourhood while holding onto the wire fence that our grandpa had built to keep us in on the rooftop. We climbed over that wire fence as well, standing at the edge of the roof while holding onto that wire fence with our tiny fingers.
My mom would likely have a heart attack if she ever found out what we did. She never knew. Grandfather never knew either. He thought he had built a safe environment for us. LOL!!! :D
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
Regis. 🙏🍁
