You're More Than I Could Ever Be

In my relationship with my fiance I've come to the conclusion that he could do SO MUCH better than me... It's actually a song that I wrote for my band. It started out as free-verse poetry... But it's here for your enjoyment. To listen to the words in context you can click the link.

There it is again.
The heavy feeling I get in my chest whenever I see you.
I don't know why,
But it happens.
You're more than I could ever be...

You smile and tell me that you love me.
I want to smack you
I want to shake you.
I want you to realize that you're too good for me.
You're more than I ever deserved.

Here we go again.
I can't help but feel this game is never-ending.
I can't stop this, I guess I'll just play along.

You kiss me, and hold me
and whisper lovingly in my ear.
I respond in a similar fashion.
I know exactly what to say.
I know exactly what you want to hear.
I know exactly how to keep you.

Here we go again.
I can't help but feel this game is never-ending.
I can't stop this, I guess I'll just play along.

Even though I know
You're just
Too
F***ing Good
For Me

I start to cry and stumble over my own tongue.
I try to tell you what is on my mind
But I'm just too numb.

How can you love someone
That never loved their self?
You're better than me
You're more than I could ever be...
