Through the woods a path is woven
Delicately wound within…
The heart of nature’s soothing bounty
Over hills and through the glen.

With each step, the crunch of leaves
Upon the moss beneath my feet…
With heavy heart I slowly wander
Destitute, my soul replete.

Wounded from the thorns that pierce
Of brutal words that scathe the mind…
These stagnant thoughts encapsulating
In the silence now refined.

For on this journey I embark
To find myself amidst the gray…
Alone I beg the forest mist
To lift and show my soul the way.

Then I sit to rest my burdens,
Back against an ancient pine…
Slowly beams begins to dance
Though not of sun, this light is mine.

For I have listened to the whispers
Fluttering within the breeze…
To find the strength to rise again
When life has brought me to my knees.
