He’s very smart, but enough to see?
Is he smart enough to turn and flee?

He’s very smart, you know,
Although sometimes his pride doesn’t let it show.
He’s very smart you see,
After all, he married me.
But put kidding all aside,
Is he too smart to let pride stride?

He’s very smart, you know.
His intellect and reasoning,
in his job he shows.
He’s very smart although,
he hides it deep below.
If he would only discard all,
the old defenses that don’t apply;
He’d again, be the smartest man I know,
And the apple of my eye.

He’s very smart, you know;
But will he continue to grow?
He’s very smart applied,
To the absence of his pride.
But when he lets his stubborn ego,
Run his intellect and logic,
EE-YO!

He’s very smart, as all can see.
But rather than dig in and work it out,
He’d rather run, and jump, and shout.
He’s very smart, and dashing too!
But when the tough times arrive, he’ll flee.
Why can’t he use that “smart” to see,
He’s killing all the joy and glee;
He’s killing him, and battering me!

He’s very smart, that’s obvious.
But how does “dumb” climb all over us?
He’s very smart; enough to fathom,
He would be better off
if “her” he would abandon.
No, not the one that history has proven true ,
But the “one” to whom he’ll fall to ruin new.

He’s very smart, but enough to see?
Is he smart enough to turn and flee?
He’s very smart to discern the danger,
Of making his wife into a total stranger.
But it would be the “other camp”,
That would come subtly on to him as vamps.
Will that be enough to turn his head?
Until he’s lost all, and nearly dead?

He’s very smart, oh yes, that’s true .
So why can’t one so smart as he,
Look back on history’s tales of woe,
And discern who is his friend or foe?
Is he too smart for his own good?
Will his intellect and life fall back to the “Hood”?
