now become only pleasant reminisces.
The sunlight slips into dusk’s late glow, and the day is gone,
Leaving the moon’s protective glow.

A Day Of Many Splendors


The moment is right, at early light
To catch the dawn flower blooming.
When one by one, urged by the sun,
The day’s wonders begin renewing.

The air is clean and fresh, and smells of pine.
In the crisp, clear blue sky, white clouds align.
The animals and critters gather at the stream,
Where they will eat and drink and make themselves clean.

The pines and firs stretch tall above the earth;
Their foliage dense and green provides nestling for new births.
The morning grows into early afternoon,
Where all the wild flowers open wide their blooms.

The busy scurrying of the squirrels is replaced
by restful naps and laziness under the sunburst’s gaze.
The afternoon’s retreat is filled with fun and frolic,
as deer, wild turkeys, raccoons and snakes, all have their own special places they make.

As young mothers teach and prepare their young about the world and its pleasures,
we humans can observe them and know them as treasures.
As the afternoon delights grow dim within late afternoon’s haze,
We turn back out thoughts of earlier, fun-filled days.
