I left medical shows a long time ago. How many medical emergencies can you have before you start repeating. I started watching one last year about an immigrant doctor from the Philippines via Cambodia who brought her son to the United States illegally to save him from a genetic disorder. She was the cleaning lady for a Las Vegas mobster. Basically, disposing of the unfortunate dead. But the series ended nicely after two or three seasons. I can see why Grey's Anatomy became repetitive and lost its edge after so many years.

I much prefer dramas that come to legitimate conclusions rather than trying to milk all they can from initial good fortune, by forcing writers to come up with new twists and stories to produce after the spark is gone.

I haven't thought about this show for years. My wife and I watched the first few seasons. But we stopped shortly after Denny Duquette died after proposing to Izzie. We could not get back into it after that. I understand you having mixed feelings. I give you credit though for staying with it. Another show that's had a long life is Midsomer Murders. 23 seasons.
