Welcome to another five further common poetry structures . The first one here I would like to introduce is the Diamantine .

Structure 1 – ‘
The Diamantine is a seven line poem where the theme of the poem ends in opposite to the beginning . The description of each line are as follows
Line 1 -
(Noun) Theme/Object
Line 2 -
Two adjectives describing the noun in line 1.
Line 3 -
Three participle words ending with a -ing or -ed, which relate to line 1 and 2 of the poem.
Line 4 -
Four nouns (2 referring to the noun in line 1 and the other 2 referring to line 7).
Line 5 -
Three participle words relating to noun in line 7)
Line 6 -
Two adjectives (describing the noun in line 7)
Line 7 -
Noun (names the Theme or object which is the opposite of the noun in line 1.

Structure 2 – The Sonnet is a 14 line poem with a specific rhyming pattern
The rule is to keep to a set of alternate and/or iambic pentameter variations.
A good example of this is breaking up the poem into an 8 line verse followed by a 6 line verse style and then forming that structure into a basic AABA method . Using this principle the sonnet may follow a rhyming pattern such as ABBAABBA for the first 8 lines and then ABCABC in the 6 line verse which permits the 14 line sonnet to be completed ,. Sad heart please disguise
For I cannot hide
how I feel inside
Tears behind my eyes
My sad hearts capsized
Shipwrecked by the tide.
My thoughts start to slide

Talking to myself there
Someone had overheard.
I was lost for a word.
There was nothing to share.
Embarrassed I was there.
Left awkward and absurd .
A broken wingless bird.
With nowhere to fly there.
Caught red faced there was I.
Didn't want to be seen.
I just wanted to die.
I just wanted to scream.
I'm so terribly shy.
Lost for words it would seem.
Structure 3- The Idyll structure would present a strong image in a lyrical composition giving an account of a peaceful, romantic, or blissful scene or incident . .My Example here is

A Still Moment

Structure 4 - The Clerihew
This structure takes it’s formation from Edmund Clerihew Bently who put these rules together in a simple four line construction of poetry .
A witty or humorous content with the theme on a biographical subject
My example is
The Poor House Walls .

John Wesley was a worried man .
He had a poor house plan .
To build with bricks made of bread,
slapped up with strawberry jam .
They said that bread would never do ,
in these hard times today .
The poor house will come falling down,
with no place left to stay.
Structure 5 The Renga – This structure is similar to The Tanka and Haiku which have a specific syllable pattern , The structure of syllables in the Renga are 5-7-5-7-7.

Thank you for providing these poetic structures for those that are inclined to try them. Like games and puzzles, they provide a challenge for those bored with their ordinary. Some people are very good at following detailed instructions to solve puzzles, some are not.
When I was in school I hated required homework structures by my teachers, but usually accomplished them well, whether I liked them or not. I'm glad I didn't take any poetry courses, because I am afraid I would've hated having to try all these classical structures. However, I am familiar with rhyme and meter, primarily from the best songs (basically, poetry). Good rhyming poems have a resonance with me that I like, rather than doing the mandatory, like poetry challenges and structures for the mere challenge of doing them or being a part of others doing them.
