Friend’s List

I forgot the golden rule

No not the one you learn in school

I tried to figure out the female mind

Just shoot me now would you be so kind?

I made a list of friends you see

It was mainly women for that pleases me

Well in any given list as you know

There has to be a sequence for the names to go.

If I had been smart I would have seen

The list should follow the alphabet scheme

But no I wasn’t smart enough

And that's what caused the first big huff.

It was bad enough to make a list you see

That was the beginning of the end for me

And then I made a horrendous mistake

Changes to the list I did make.

When you change a list as you know

It affects the priority the names must go

And that is what did me in you see

And caused me grief and misery.

Some names go up and so some must go down

And that is what caused some great big frowns

But even worse is to remove a name

For after that things are never the same.

With time my wounds mend and it would be fine

If I didn’t do it again but that style’s not mine

I love change and so you see

My wounds are self inflicted and that’s fine with me.

So guys be smart there do not go

I was the martyr so you would know

And guys you are not off the hook

About you I could write a great big book.

The guilty know who you are

And I am sure our relationships it won’t mar

For in the end you all will see

It’s just a part of being lovable me.
