no where in the world,
before time stopped and daddy
surrendered to fear,
and mom seemed so beautiful,
I saw my new dad smiling, but
rain drops struck his head,
big blue blotches coming
sideways through the air,
just when he was hugging
mom and her eyes bled red tears
so happy she had seemed
but a loud sound overlapped
the sequence, some song
like one of my cartoons,
while my old daddy's face was on
a pink billboard near Old City Road,
and helicopters landed, one by
one, on my school parking lot,
while the teachers said
Mass on the school steps,
and my new daddy cried,
his face turning blue.
