Friends
Friends that I adore
But one----
You lie besides me
In the soft awakening sun.
You bring out the child in me;
You forgive my foolishness,
You make me strong and mighty
And set me free like a bird,
Yet, it’s only in your arms,
I know freedom.
Friends I envision,
Only you---
You see in me what others don’t
You share my jokes, my yoke,
My joy---my darkness,
And my brightness,
And in spite of it all
You’re my rock of Gibraltar.
Friends I pray to have
But One----
Blessed with patience and tolerance,
Gifted with beauty of angels
Walking among us with humility,
With her fragrance of roses,
And a candle lit room
Burning through the darkness
As if million of bright stars,
Lighted up the heavens.
