Red sunsets shadow mesas
Eyes glazed over another cerveza
New age spas and golf resorts
Commercial property to cavort
Shops, art, and antiques
Add to Sedona’s mystique
Ambient light absent here
Stars and darkness to revere
Nature sleeps under a black sky
Takes my breath with nary a sigh
Jack rabbits run and play
To fetch a meal another day
Dawn awakens the quail’s call
After nature’s curtain falls
Morning dew on native plants
Provides nutrients to supplant
The desert’s hold on vegetation
From a palentologist view of gestation
Silence grips the desert floor
As if to say the angels adore
God’s handicraft signals the past
Molten rock viewed through a looking glass
Desert landscapes forever define
The sanctity of life divine
