Rains Sweet Lullaby

The rain provides a soothing backdrop for the sufferer of Anxiety. Each droplet becomes a symbol of faith in eventual Healing.

The sad, tranquil rain
soothes my troubled mind
like a mothers cool hand
upon a fevered brow.

A feeling of temporary refuge
resonates within me
in the falling rhythms.
Such a melancholy song -
A song that offers calm
to my quickened heartbeat.

The alluring, liquid landscape
is balm to my lingering pain,
Each pure and crystalline droplet
a symbol of Faith in the course of my Healing and Restoration.

But for now I am serene.
Rains sweet lullaby has calmed my
consternation,
Tranquility cocoons my weariness,
In Peace, at last,
.....I sleep.

When it comes to the rainfall...whether it be light, soft, hard or heavy...it always beats out a pattern and rhythm of serenity and healing energy for our weary souls and anxious hearts.

Even though you are going through this awful period of grief and despair, God manages to speak through you in a meaningful way that allows others to hear His voice, when they may not otherwise be able to do. May you continue to pour out your heart through verse, for your voice is ripened unto harvest.

I always love listening to the rain when they fall; especially when I was back in my hometown - Hong Kong. Gives one a relaxed and refreshed feeling.

Great poem, Diana!!!

Oh! I can relate to this so much that I feel I wrote your verses myself. I love the song of rain. Thank you for sharing this gift, Diana. Love and best wishes to you,

For me, especially if it's coming down hard, or storming, rain has the opposite affect: you see, I am StormPhobic. Terrified of bad weather - living in Tornado Alley (with no underground shelter) only intensifies my StormFear - but your poem is absolutely soothing! Beautifully imaged and penned, Diana, well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

...perhaps the waters of the sky...to quench the heart...and bathe the soul...with peaceful light...found within the fallen waters... dreams.
very well written Diana...

I too love the rain. Your thoughts are mine-- this poem is as soothing as the subject spoken of. --Charlie
