An unusual setting..outside of a large Supermarket when just closed. Everyone has gone..I glance across at my husband who is gazing heavenward...

We stand in loving silence,

As one in the cool night air.

Your wonderful profile never fails to stir me

As I reflect on where your eyes, your thoughts are fixed.

A distant star has held your gaze,

Your eyes, illumined with the light of Ancient times

Are`glistening,

moved by the beauty and simplicity of the moment.

We are alone,

Lights twinkle all around us,

And as the night air darkens

your eyes hold me spellbound.

How they shine!

The Full Moon of Lovers Presides in full Magnificence

over the magical Tesco twilight,

Amazingly unaware of her place or power

upon this unique fragment of time;

This simple, stirring, startling setting.

Have you ever known how powerfully you move me

to feelings, places and times as yet unknown?

But known deep within, and released only in rare moments,

Moments when we, our Love as part of the Universe,

Expand into oneness and Infinity,

Souls merging, spirits soaring, sparkling and scintillating

into the ebony vastness,

but always as one.

My heart leaps suddenly with perfect joy

as a Shooting Star explodes into the distant

black velvet of the Night.

We smile, child-like and Wish,

                                                          Wish,

                                                                     Wish.

...........Oh that these moments could last forever,

Both safely enfolded within our deepest Love.

Guardians of the Light,

as we stand alone, as One.....

In the Wonderful Tesco Twilight.

I am certain that you are now the distant star that holds his gaze. Your continued love for one another now shines as does the brightest star in the heavens.

Your loving words have brought me to tears.

I'm but a few weeks away from celebrating my 57th wedding anniversary with the woman that has been my inseparable companion since we were both fourteen years of age. And as you must know, we have shared many such magical moments. These are the moments in time that move me to write such words as...

"But only tender souls may touch
In magic born of heart
And dare to dream of times to come
When we're not far apart,
For all we have in life is Love."

My dearest Diana, I know now that your beloved husband has passed on and that you are grieving your loss and feeling lonely and foresaken. But have faith that you will in time be together once again in the Heart of God.

Thank you for sharing a truly wonderful poem.

With much love,
Richard

This is so beautiful I felt the tears prick the edges of my eyes. Not sure if it was deliberate, but the extra spacing between the lines added power to this piece - like reading a night sky filled with scattered stars.

Supermarkets are unusual romantic settings. But I think you made it work. What better place for squeezing tomatoes? ;+p

That is very romantic and moving. Amazing what we hear when our queries, "Penny for your thoughts" is answered honestly... But even more amazing, when we visit those same far-off looks ourselves. --CHarlie

Your insight is very inspiring. During those unexpected times of togehterness, when you least expected love's peak contemplates the transcendence of what you strive upon, and so constantly seek upon. A supermarket, devasting, a place where you have acquired the beautiies, and purities in the qualities of love's true focus. Contemplating, Very inspiring. Very well written. You have a talent. there.
