One morning, one February, glancing out of the window into the garden...something miraculous occurred...

Poem Artwork

Something Miraculous.

It was a morning of closeness,
Bunches of bright, fresh Daffodils
Brightening our room, our hearts, and our souls.
Magic moments of peace, love and togetherness
mellowed us.

Then something miraculous happened.
The sun, the rain, and our Forsythia tree
Conspired quietly to create for us an amazing
Display of spectral magic.

Myriad droplets of shimmering beauty
Suspended from every branch
Bedazzled us with every imagineable hue.
The tree sparkled and flashed Ruby reds,
vibrant Blues, Purples, Pinks and
Ocean Greens of awesome splendour.
Spellbound, we gazed in awe at Nature's
Exquisite showcase.

Then..all too soon, like life,
The show was over,
Beauty fading, then gone, and
Just a stark, sad tree
On a weary Winter's day,
Yearning for the energy of Springtime.

Suddenly, a tiny Blue-Tit flew into its drab branches,
And once again a splash of colour and movement
Gave life to the stillness, the dullness,
A hint of Hope that Spring was near at hand.

But a miracle of Nature had occurred,
And the tree once transformed
Will carry the energy deep within its roots forever.

We too, will always remember a mellow morning in February,
When transformation became a triumphant symbol of Beauty, Renewal, Rebirth...
And eternal Hope.

This was beautiful. You said that you did not paint, this was one of the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen. What I do with a brush you do with mere words. If this was hanging on a wall I would have to call it a masterpiece.

Oh, Diana, there is no way I can possibly put into words the beauty of this poem. There is such tenderness in your writing, and it simply has to be a reflection of your soul. Are you working on your book? I can only imagine the beauty of your poetry spilling over into your prose as well.

I know your Forsythia tree is very special to you. And now, in your sharing of this beautiful "Something Miraculous," it is to us, too!

Bless you, my dear Diana.

This is simply beautiful and full of the promise of life. I have always said that we should just stop and take the time to appreciate the beauty that mother nature has to offer us. All too often people are in a hurry...to do what, I have no idea, but they are in a hurry. This poem describes why we should take our time and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature's sea. Thank you Diana for sharing.

May the Lord Bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and walk by your side. With love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), Barbie

A miracle indeed, Diana. What can be a more beautiful sight than a play of nature and the beauty of God's creations... Meaningful work, it has a gentle quality that draws the reader right within that magical span of time and space. Peace and love in Christ.

I hold in my heart a miraculous February morning such as that...When sun shone down, amid a snow storm just feet away from us as we visited our son's grave. It reminds me that hope lives on, and that life is eternal... that I have my path to follow in life, and my path continues on despite our son's death at such a young age. But rather than mourning his loss, I should celebrate that his path was a part of mine, no matter how far the distance, and the miracle helped me to see that he was celebrating it too.

I also am reminded each spring of the promise of eternal tomorrows and rebirth. I wrote about it in my article "The Significance of Spring."

Thanks for reminding me of the miracles of spring on this dreary cool morning... :~) Spring comes late in Montana.
