( I will never forget watching the finals of the Miss F.A.T. (Fabulous And Thick ) beauty contest in 2006 on television. I am so glad that I bore witness to Tanisha Malone getting crowned. I wrote this poem and sent it to Tanisha Malones fanclub website the very next day after she was crowned. They did in fact post this poem on her fanclub website. )
You are the blackest, prettiest thing in the universe.
The only entity that is blacker and prettier than you
is the midnight sky.
And though many people marvel over the stars,
the stars are just your entourage, and what rest
behind them is the blackgound.
Their twinkle is the smile of appreciation for
being able to play a role in your reign.
Stay supreme

What an interesting tribute in recognition that we all come in all shapes and sizes, but it is what fills the heart that matters most, beautifully said...
I love this tribute and I know Miss F.A.T. does too! Altho I am a writer, I love to paint with oils and charcoals...and I have had a collection of Fatulicious (my word) paintings... don't know why I enjoy drawing and painting women who are large...but I do... and am so proud of my collection. I have sold several over the years, and when people ask me "why" I draw large women, I just say, "because they are beautiful"...and I consider myself to be one too... even tho I my weight goes up and down... my mind will always keep me large... Good for you and how nice to say what you feel. lindalaw
