CONFESSION My words crouch Like cowards on my tongue, Frightened refugees from the musings of my mind. I seek refuge in the touch of pen on pad Written word My shelter My confessional Without which I might never venture to tell The truth So profound in feeling But so hard to confess. And if you say “Yes”, What then? How do we begin? I admit I know nothing … But this feeling. The future is a whirling Dervish And I am caught awe struck in the dance. I leave it to you, To destiny To the gods of fate and reason, To play out this hand. I live The soul of a poet My heart on my sleeve Hope my guide Faith my tool. I dream a dream, Of love and loving, And one day I shall Wake And it will be true .
