Restless nights when love has all but consumed the heart.
Oh woe is the night
As darkness falls
I begin to recall
Our passion
Entwined in a universe
Filled with sun, moons and stars
Serenaded with
Spanish Guitars
That strum a lover's rhythm
A drummer's beat
That creates a frenzy within
Our body heat
Woe is the night
Where angels take flight
And the devil!'s temptation
Begins
Prayer or sin?
Good over evil
Will always win
If you want it to
Hence 'free will'
Woe is the night
As your face fades
Into the approaching dawn
As I awake to a new morn
A smile as I embrace
The remnants of my dream
And then the realisation
You're not here
A dream so real
Woe is the night
That tries to steal
My healing
That won't let me
Forget you
And your eyes
The depth of sea-blue
Almost black
Woe is this curse
Called love
When one sided
I am blinded
By the dawn's light
As I write this poem
Without any sleep
Woe is the night raider
The shadow lover
Who sleeps peacefully
While I weep.

I can completely relate to the theme that you express through your verses, Andrea. They awaken powerful thoughts and emotions. Thank you! Love and best wishes to you,
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
