Another U.S. government shutdown happened, 800,000 people out of work. They would rather shutdown the government than give 11 million people health-care options. Will America ever learn?

 The Fools on the Hill

Day after day, on Capitol hill,
Con(gress)men with the foolish grins,
Are keeping perfectly still.

But nobody wants to know them,
They can see that they’re just some fools,
And they never give an answer,

But the fools on Capitol hill,
See America’s sun going down,
And the eyes in their heads,
See the world spinning 'round.

Well, on the way down,
Talking heads in a cloud,
 535 voices talking perfectly loud
But nobody cares to hear them,
or the sound they appear to make,
and they never seems to notice,

But the fools on Capitol hill,
See America’s sun going down,
And the eyes in their heads,
See the world spinning 'round.

And nobody seems to like Obama,
They can tell what he wants to do,
He always shows his feelings,

But the fools on Capitol hill,
See America’s sun going down,
And the eyes in their heads,
See the world spinning 'round.

Ooh, ooh,
Round and round and round.

And Obama never listens to them,
He knows that they're the fools
They don't like him,

But the fools on Capitol hill,
See America’s sun going down,
And the eyes in their heads,
See the world spinning 'round.

Ooh, down the drain,

Round and round and round,

Salute! America goes down.

You have the knack sir of getting to the point. We see that again, here in this writing.

My thanks and apology to the Beatles, from whose song, "The Fool on the Hill", album: "Magical Mystery Tour", I took off from, as Regis correctly wrote in his kind review. I meant to include that at the end of the poem, now my oversight is corrected. Let's hope the US congress remember who pays their salary. Do you think the "Taxman", (another Beatles' hit tune) will be furloughed too? I echo Balwmer Tom's comments on this one. Thanks for the reviews. Love you guys!

Most apt and timely; and a nice take-off from the song of the Beathles. Thank you for sharing, Rockie. Love and peace,

Regis
