Men and Our Gadgets

Men crave electronic gizmos
the feel of cord-free chrome

luring us to Sharper Image
ordered rows of hard-edged toys

teasing with powered hums
sugar candy for uncallused hands.

We seek black-shirted certainty
a fix precursed by smiles

while in the mall chaos awaits
surging everywhere

nowhere.
