sketch by Amor Sabor
*I began to write this tribute to Joy L. Hale about 2 yrs ago inspired by her smile and due to her absence from AD and that of my own, I put off the tribute, but since she has returned and I have been posting more frequently, I decided to complete this tribute to a very special poetess who has been a dear friend and supporter of my work as I am of hers. I can only hope that I have done her justice.

"Entranced by her Smile"

she smiles and even heaven becomes brighter
for her warmth has emitted immeasurable
as it radiates in every possible direction
where exploding supernovas cannot compete

the galaxy opens a path for her pursed lips
and giant nebulas part like the red sea
just in case she may happen to pass by
just in case she may be the reason for love

when she smiles it is like the rays of the sun
a star that has crashed through my window
spreading her iridescent beam in a prism
all in the colors of an intense love gone wild

and the heart grows stronger in that time
as she enters stage right well into my view
as she showers me gently with indigo dust
where cold shadows can no longer linger

I see her beaming the most kind of all smiles
that even her eyes dance in the caress
penetrating my soul with a sultry glance
pulling me out of the canvas by the hand

I dream of her in Technicolor fascination
drenched from head to toe in her grace
where her perfume lightly scents the air
with neon roses from her garden bloom

I bow before the magnificence of her
a goddess that bestows special moments
and beauty kisses her on both cheeks
just as if time would magically stand still

her smile is apparent and overwhelming
bleaching out the trace of any doubt
in a flood of star, sunlight and moonlight
while prayers and wishes are answered

A rare tribute to both the gift of the magic and enigma of a smile and the person, Amor. You are multiply blessed if you have been the beneficiary of both in person! :) Your gift of seeing romance in everything is sensory and emotional wealth indeed and your beautiful generosity of spirit makes us all abundant beneficiaries. Joy is aptly named and is made complete by your vision of her - and her wonderful gift of a smile! Bless you and thank you for your uplifting visits to my den today. :) xx

Amor,

Your scintillating words certainly succeed in making a lady feel appreciated! I feel blessed to have such a talented and dear friend as you, Amor. Your sketch bears a striking resemblance to the picture of me with Santa, your multitalented works shine brightly in all you do. Thank you, my friend, for the tribute, I will treasure these words for a long time to come. Something special to grow old with!
