So Near, Yet So Far...

Its about the pain of distant hearts and missing his lover, who is far away, in some distant lands. Hope you like this.
Kindly review this work, to encourage the 'budding poet' in me. Thanks!

Beloved,
let me bathe in the torrent downpour of your memories!
Look, the magical moments we spent together
now softly step on the fragrant path of my heart
where sapphire blue forget-me-nots
had once bloomed abundantly,
in their full glory!

Remember,
stars had stopped twinkling
when they saw the impish sparkle
in your night-black eyes,
I had planted a moon-lit kiss
on the crimson sky of your lips!
Fireworks of frenzied fantasy
illuminated our bodies and soul
and we floated on cloud nine
till eternity …

Once,
when I was singing in the rain,
you were dancing to the tipsy tunes
of the falling raindrops.
Soaked sunshine broke into myriads of dazzling hues
and a thousand rainbows appeared like magic
in the vast expanse of heavens above.
We waded, through the muddy waters
hand-in-hand, across the fading horizon
to fetch the shining pots of gold!

Last night,
when I dreamt of you in my sleep
and you slept in my dreams,
breeze rustled your chestnut-brown hair
adorned with row of rhinestones, glittering!
When dawn tip-toed in the bedroom
I woke up only to realize that
though your memories are so near,
but alas, you are so far away
from me…

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
