Just a little brevity...

Time marches on inexorably
And drags us all behind
It weakens human bodies first
And then it robs the mind

It moves on surreptitiously
Doing damage as it passes
You start with store-bought choppers
And then next you're needing glasses

You arches fall-your knees give out
Your back contracts lumbago
Just when you think you're still a stud-
Then that's the time that 'they' go

And watching autumn leaves fall down
You start to feel your age
You realize the 'Book of Life'
Does have a final page

So then you take your glasses off
And try reading it much slower
The light grows dim-the sun of life
Is suddenly much lower

But if Bob Hope at 100
Can flash a smile so bright
Then things may not be all that bad
In fact, I feel alright!!
