Owed To A Yellow Warbler

I'm sorry little warbler bird
Sorry that you had to die
You should be out there singing
Or flying through God's sky

Our world's a little poorer now
Because you've gone away
There is one less sweet and clarion song
To brighten up each day

I'm sorry little warbler bird
Sorry that you had to die
But I hope your spirit's up there
Forever singing in God's sky!

This is sad yet lovely and precious. I do not know if you intended it to sound like a childs ryhme but it does to me and therein makes it also a precious write too!!!!

It was a beautiful poem, John, and please don't blame me. I tried to shoo it out of the way as I passed your house but the darn thing wouldn't leave. I think it commited suicide.

Tender and loving write...
I've often felt the same
after seeing a tiny bird
whos singing has forever
stopped. Your heart is
golden.

How absolutely lovely, John. The grace and beauty within your sweet rhymes is beguiling.. I do believe you have written this sweet bird's essence by writing this just as you have. A very moving write, indeed. katy.

Good write. But it's a good bet that another warbler replaced the one that died. Renewal is (so far) a constant.
