A few words of wisdom written for my son in 1997!
These fleeting days of summer Like your youth, you must enjoy For someday soon son you'll awake And find you're not a boy You'll find this world has not just gone According to your plan You'll find a harder, meaner world Where you must be a man And in that world my son, you'll find This frightening little truth: These fleeting days of summer Were the fleeting days of youth!

My goodness! This hit me right between the eyes.. you give absolute beauty and truth to "sentimental" and "melancholy." They are treasured words when applied to your gentle wisdom. Is your son old enough to realize what a wonderful father he has? He's very lucky, John. katy.
