next to the insides of mine
draped across the bedroom
through the floor
and near the clock
that rings in the tic
tic tic
until the doorbell
buzzes through the brain's
connection
with the bars on the inside
on the inside
I can suffer for your sins
just give me
the time
tic
tic tic
where are your eyes
when I call down the rain
how will this drive
ever end
windshield wipers sliding
flip
flipflip
slicing through sheets of
water like flesh
and blood drips down
through the floor
and the puddles expand
drip
drip drip
until the doorbell
buzzes through
the electrical connection
and to the floor where
we lie
in our our arms
and we watch
it slip by
and sleeping on the floor
tic
tic tic
through your brain
gives you bad dreams
you say in midst of
marlboro swirls
nostrils flaring in a
deep exhalation
