I move slowly towards my Exodus
Fleeing the confines of my Egypt
Where for years I have been bound
Bound in shackles I could not see
My Pharaoh, my mind
A tireless taskmaster
Made me build my house on fleeting fantasies
And wishful thinking
Dug my heels deep building my castle with the sand of delusions

As a make my way
Towards my land of milk and honey a place internal peace and acceptance
I came face to face with an ocean
My ocean of uncertainty, fear and doubt
And riding up behind me pharaoh’s army

All my insecurities and pain from past hurts
With one and only one intent
To take me back to the land of Egypt
Back to shackles of delusion and falsehood

In the midst of my confusion
Seeing no way to escape
Trapped and alone
I screamed for God
I prayed for grace
I begged for help
And it came

With a bolt of lightening
Divine grace reached down deep into the sea of fear
Sending it asunder along with all my uncertainties

Divine love and grace
Set alight all my doubts and my insecurities
Burning away all my pain
Revealing the gold that I am
Burning and refining with the refiners fire
And up and out came pure GOLD

Grace Overflowing Love Divine
My path is made clear
I walk with head held high
Faith grasp tightly in my right hand
And hope wrapped around my feet
God’s promise must be complete
I move towards a land overflowing with milk and honey

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
