The Stirring The stirring deep within the soul Makes restless, sleepless nights- The will for sure has no control As faith gives way to sight! Wherein doth lie the answer deep, To make this strain subside? 'I pray the Lord my soul to keep' Seems but a childish chide! Yet, truth be known, the great I Am, The Ruler of us all Allows this time, which is no sham, For purpose 'mid His call! Sheer comfort is but for a while, The stirring needs must be To forge us on another mile, Pursuing victory!
