I wrote this poem because one year for Christmas we didn't have alot of money and I made almost all of the gifts for everyone and our children were small so they didn't care. I wanted them to know how much they were loved someday when they got older.
If Only If only I could I surely would Freeze time for just a while. So I could have And always hold All the memories of your smiles. If only I could I always would Remember all the things. The little things You did so sweet They are as precious as angel wings! If only I could Express the love I feel for each of you. There isn't a way Except to say This poem is for all of you! All the longing of your Mother-heart comes through in this sweet poem for your children. I know the feeling well.
We had one Christmas when my sister-in-law's friend gave her several used stuffed animals, and we used them for our kids' gifts.
This poem is a lasting gift for your children, and as they grow older, they will cherish the poem and your love.
