The following is a recently found letter to one of my best friends from his wife that passed away three years ago. At the time of her death, Gene and Rosemary had been married for fifty-two years.
A Letter of Love Thank you, God, for my husband, as he is everything I could want. He is my best friend, my lover and my confident. He has nourished our marriage with humor in good times and bad. He has made a difference in this world with his Christian commitment to his family and me. He is loving, caring and honest with broad shoulders to rely on. I still see rockets and stars when I look at him. He is still that same handsome, tall Marine, my prince charming. I am sure I am loved and that we have something beautiful and special within our love. He always gives, for he has given me thirty-four years of happiness and love. I pray I can offer back to him some of the love he has given me. We are so very blessed, and I love him so very much. Rosemary Tarnowski May 18, 1989

I am quite amazed to read this poem, it is really encouraging to see westerners with such stable marriages at a time when values, be they christian or traditional have been cast into the bin. There is nothing like a marriage established by God himself, with agape love as the bedrock.

She was my Aunt.... My fathers sister. We had lost touch after my mother passed away... Always good memories of my Uncle Gene and Aunt Rosemary. I miss her very much. According to the date, she had written this just 3 weeks after my Dad passed away. It's very touching.. What a sweet remembrance for Gene.
