NIGGER

It is all the vain hate in the world

All of the beatings

All of the rapes

And all of the murders

It is all of the wars

And all of the bombs dropped

All of the children with half-burnt faces

And deformed baby brothers and sisters

With a life of fearful, curious eyes to expect

It is all of the mindless violence of the world

It is NOT just a word

Two comments on this fine poem, Michael. First, I like the
structure and the writing of it. Second, my response to the
poem is obviously to agree with the concluding line. Not
just a word but the ignorance behind the word. Or the way
we're taught to hate -- carefully taught, as the song goes
in South Pacific. -gene.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
