Always Dreaming won the Kentucky Derby and this was the inspiration of this poem.

Don't ever throw your dreams away Nor let stray Or listen to others telling you to forget your vision You know where you are heading Stay on course Always Dreaming

It seems that Triple Crown aspirants always have great names, and Always Dreaming certainly is apropos for a racehorse on Churchill Downs. Of thousands of other horses and their owners dreaming of the same outcome, only one can win the Kentucky Derby.

All of that finery got soaked and the track was really sloppy. It sure pays to be out in front because Always Dreaming and his jockey hardly had any mud on them. Some of the others probably couldn't even see on the home stretch.
