Love for my Thug
DeShawn is a thug he pimps through the hood
Clacking homemade dice all three made of wood
Phat pants roll deep way below his knees
No belt at his ankles; getting all dees
To the principal’s office - suspended again
DeShawn rolls out while I stroll in
He said, brother, Daryl, talking to me
"Have love for your thug;
But, for not what you see"
I paced to our corner hiding tears on the mound
Watching "D" pimping in, then rolling out of town
More tears in my eyes; dear heaven up above
"D" is my brother; I got nothing but love
A heart gets weak when it comes to my thug
Don't want to stop seeing
When it's brotherly love!

You may be the ONLY one who shows him that endless love. It breaks your heart to see one of your own on such a path, but your steadfast love may one day be the key to his redemption.
