I often wonder what it would be like

To flutter freely through the air

As people watched me go by

I haven't got a care

My happiness shown in my movements

My beautiful colors all aglow

People smile as I go by

I'm like a little rainbow

A little rainbow that spreads happiness

And joy throughout the day

Oh how grand it would be to live like this

And be happy everyday

Alas, for now, I must live in this world

I must remain me

To finish life in this form

Not being albe to choose what to be

And now I have to finish

This task so I may grow

I reach up and grab the jar

And let my butterfly go
