Unreleased poem pulled from Pray The Rain Never Ends.

It was during a bad period of life. On a personal level, it was when I was seriously considering suicide.

This was part of my personal healing process. Writing in a sense saved me, and until now, no one knows that I was suicidal at a point.

(c) 2008 Joel M. Andre

There is nothing left for me
My world has become dark and inferior
I call out to the lonely echo’s
That run down this empty house

For one moment
I was strong
The world was there before me
It was I who would succeed

The claws of the darkness
Lured me in and cradled my head
Lies of the moon
Soothed my innocent soul

A passion in me
That I thought would lead me home
Broke down before me
And left me cold

So judge me than
Speak your angry words
It is I who have committed sin
But it was a sin I committed
For you

Turns out it was the one thing
That hurt you
The one thing
That could end me

The room is full
Of hushed whispers tonight
And empty arms again

This soul of mine
Beaten and shred
Finally found the truth
Beyond the end

So as you bow before me tonight
Praise the lord
Hope I found the light

Know now that I
I loved only you
As best as I was humanly
Able to

Pass no further judgment on me
Cast me back to a memory
Live your life
For all it holds
While my bones grow bitter and cold

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
