Illness and the daily demands of life intervene, as so often they do.
Thus, as of Xmas Eve, I am still at work on my second chapbook, "This Is Only A Test."
Still, progress continues. Below is something brief I just composed, about one of my favorite topics (the power of language), which I'll probably use as my preface:
Make new words.
Red and blue words.
Make love without the trembling
urge to touch the troubled crutch
of
tried and true words.
Use zoo words.
Fresh-as-dew words.
Just a few words.
I love it! The message may be a little cutesy, as someone mentioned, but the real treat is reading this out loud and feeling the words you chose to use to describe non-words roll off your tongue. the cacophony and mellifluousness. the language. wordsmithy.
I liked this. It is short, a little cutesy for my usual tastes, but it has "voice", and that's what matters in art. Well done. Best of luck on the chapbook.
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
